Abstract: The ichthyofaunal diversity from Durgabai Doh Kumbhali Lake, Sakoli, Bhandara, the survey was done for fish diversity. Total of 18 species belonging to 9 orders and 11 families were identified. This was the systematic survey of the fish diversity of this lake. The ichthyofauna includes 18 species, 11 families, and 9 orders. Cypriniformes, with six species (33.3%), is the most prevalent order due to its hardiness and adaptability. Other orders include the Percifomrs and Ophiocephaliformes with two species (11.1%), and all remaining orders Cichliformes, Beloniformes, Mastacembeliformes, Osteoglossiformes, Angulaformes with one species (9.1%). It is proposed that the scientific information on ichthyofaunal diversity and distribution status will surely help in serving the future purposes of sustainable exploitation and concurrent conservation of fish resources. Fishing impacts not only exploited species but also biological and environmental connections to fished species and their habitats.
