Physico-chemical analysis of Ganga and Yamuna Rivers at Prayagraj: A comparative study for 2018 and 2019

Abstract: This study presents a comprehensive analysis of the physico-chemical parameters of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers at Prayagraj for the years 2018 and 2019. Parameters such as temperature, turbidity, pH, alkalinity, dissolved oxygen (DO), carbon dioxide, biological oxygen demand (BOD), and current velocity were evaluated to assess the water quality and its implications for aquatic life. The results highlight variations in water quality over the years and suggest impacts on the riverine ecosystems, providing insights for water management and conservation strategies.
